Hi, all!
Well, life just keeps chugging along. I have been very busy lately. Not just with school, although that is taking up more and more of my time. I have recently started teaching free-lance art classes again. Yay! I did not realize how much I missed it! It is really starting to pick up. I was even asked to do a demonstration at a local country club the other day. That was a lot of fun. I think the funniest part of the day was a conversation I had with one of the ladies responsible for the get together. I can't remember her name, but she was wearing a leopard print shirt.
Leopard print lady: "Here! Sit down and have breakfast with us."
Me: "No thanks, I ate before I came."
Leopard print lade: "Oh, okay. Well here, have a mimosa."
Me: "hahaha, thanks, but I don't drink."
Leopard print lady: "Oh, well I have some diet cokes, you're welcome to one of those."
Me: (laughing more) "No thanks again, I'm allergic to aspertame."
Leopard print lady: ..........oh.......
Me: "Yeah, I know, I'm difficult to deal with."
Leopard print lady: "Oh, no, I wasn't thinking that. At least come and sit with us."
Me: "Ok."
I sat at the table and talked with a few of the ladies. It was pleasant conversation. I should have removed the plate in front of me though, because everyone that saw the empty plate asked me if I was going to eat!
These were some very, very nice ladies. They all seemed to enjoy the short demonstration. I will be completely honest. This was my first time ever at a country club, and I was afraid that I was going to feel out of place. (Anyone who knows me knows I am not a girly girl or the most politically correct apple on the tree.) These ladies all went out of their ways to make me feel at home. It was very sweet.
I ended up donating a signed print of "The Dock" as a door prize.
fav.me/d4aaor7All in all, I would say it was a wonderful experience. Oh, and Leopard Print Lady, if you are reading this, I apologize for forgetting your name! I am terrible with names!
Well, here's hoping that everyone's day is bright, beautiful, and completely glorious!
